The Elfwerks ST001

Introducing the Porsche 911 – ST001 modified by Elfwerks.

The ST001 is our take on what a Porsche® 964 restomod can be when the process is driven by vision, not trends.

Finland has a history with racing and building Porsches — from works drivers like Leo Kinnunen and Henri Toivonen to wild, hand-built four-wheel-drive rallycross Carreras by the teams of Matti Alamäki and Seppo Niittymäki, long before the 953 and Porsche’s own four-wheel-drive system even existed.

Inspired by that history and the craftsmanship behind it, we created modifications for the 964 chassis — now known as the ST001 series.

What we’ve created is a focused modification that pays respect to the original. The design of the Porsche 911 is already complete, but every era carries something unique that can work together. The intent was to let those influences exist as one car — from early RSR thinking, through the 993 era, to present-day RS and ST models. As a result, the ST001 stands on its own and will always be recognized without blending into anything else.

Design of the st001

Bodywork
All bodywork and the modifications are designed in-house. Parts for the final builds are made from metal, carbon, or flax fibre, depending on the build.

Body lines are kept original, as those proportions are considered untouchable. Headlights and taillights remain recognizably Porsche, updated with modern function while preserving their character.

Front and rear bumpers follow the early 911 body language, with functional improvements. The front bumper was developed with 964 airflow and cooling in mind.

The rear bumper takes cues from later RS models, adapted to work with the 964 form, without forcing the idea. The ducktail stays true to classic RSR, with subtle changes. Side skirts and two piece fender flares were developed to sit naturally within the original bodywork.

Lighting will be available in both clear and colored themes, depending on build specification and the destination country’s road requirements. Headlights retain original-style glass, revised for modern function while retaining the updated original looks.

Interior
Call it “scandi minimalism” our approach to the interior. You won’t find much, but everything you’ll ever need is there, staying true to the spirit of racing.

The seats are an in-house design, the Elfwerks ST001 LWB bucket seat, built in carbon with subtle references to RS seats from different eras. The Komfort seats are based on the Turbo design, with subtle modifications to make them more “ours”.

Each interior is tailored to match the car’s overall feel and color scheme. Prototype fabrics shown in the “Pollock car” include Porsche Grey Berber, Curry Jubilee, and Sand Grey Alcantara. Future ST builds will feature curated fabric and leather interiors drawn from Porsche’s history.

In-house designed door cards combine an RS feel with modern era usability, acknowledging how cars are used today without breaking period character.

Audio and media are handled by Porsche PCCM®, with CarPlay® and Fender® speakers.

Engines and drivetrain
Engines are developed in collaboration with local Finnish engine builders.

The standard ST specification features a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre engine producing approximately 310 horsepower, paired with a G50 gearbox and limited-slip differential.

The RS specification option increases displacement up to 4.0 litres, and with other modifications delivering around 385–400 horsepower. Engine and gearbox options are always tailored per build.

A full stainless exhaust system with 200-cell catalysts and heat exchangers completes the package.

Suspension, brakes and wheels
As standard, ST001 builds are equipped with upgraded 964 Brembo® brakes and KW® V3 or Bilstein® suspension.

RS builds receive larger Brembo® brake packages and Öhlins® Road & Track suspension.

Custom Porsche 917-inspired wheels play a major role in the car’s aesthetic and remain one of the key elements of the design.

Paint and refinish
The “Jackson Pollock Paint” was an intentional experiment, a way to present a prototype, using unconventional camouflage. The boldest clients may choose to have it that way.

The first two available “Early Bird” cars will be ST001/1 in Bahama Yellow and ST001/2 in Polar Silver.

Final ST001 builds will be available in Elfwerks-curated Porsche heritage-themed exterior and interior palettes, or fully tailored schemes per client wishes.

Sustainability & Donor Selection
Circular economy and sustainability while building custom cars? Yes, by starting with the right cars in the first place.

Only high-quality
donor vehicles are selected for our projects.
Original components and finishes are carefully retained and refurbished; replacement is
carried out where necessary to achieve the specified result.

This approach reduces unnecessary material use, preserves and respects original
craftsmanship, and ensures that work is focused on meaningful improvements rather
than redundant replacement.

This way of working avoids unnecessary material use, preserves original craftsmanship, and keeps the focus on meaningful improvements rather than redundant replacement and waste.

Ownership
You can become an owner of ST001 in two ways.

First you can purchase a car already built to our own curated specifications or choose us to find the right donor for the build. Lead time depends on the donor. With a perfect donor the build time can be as short as four to six months.

Every ST001 is technically serviceable with Porsche 911 parts and by any Porsche specialist anywhere in the world.

In-house curated ST001 cars with fixed specifications start at 229,000€ donor car included.

We offer worldwide door to door delivery.
